Standing on the Shoulders of Strategy: Helping the Trailer Park Boys Level Up Their Social Game

Client Overview

The Trailer Park Boys are Canadian comedy royalty. Born out of Nova Scotia, this cult-favourite franchise has become a global phenomenon with an army of loyal fans. The brand includes hit TV shows, movies, live tours, podcasts, merch, cannabis products, and more—all fuelled by the beloved antics of Ricky, Julian, and Bubbles. Their voice is unapologetic, hilarious, and real, and their fanbase? Devoted doesn’t even begin to cover it.

What Trailer Park Boys Wanted:

The Boys weren’t just looking for help with social media—they wanted a full-blown, dialed-in marketing partner to help guide content, strategy, partnerships, and events. We joined them at a time when things were heating up in Sunnyvale: Bubbles was gearing up to drop his new album Longhauler, and the highly anticipated mockumentary Standing on the Shoulders of Kitties: The Bubbles and the Shitrockers Story was about to premiere.

In other words—we had to get up to speed quicker than Ricky running from the cops. And we did.

What We Did:

Community Management with a Side of Sass

We took the Boys’ already-awesome social presence and layered on more strategic community management. That included more frequent use of in-app features like polls, Q&As, countdowns, and interactive stickers to not just drive engagement—but to deepen the connection with their loyal fans.

Real-Time Content at the Ready and Red Carpet Event Management

Our team was on the ground for key events like movie premieres, capturing and posting content in real-time, engaging with fans, and keeping the hype alive on socials throughout each city stop.

Video Editing & Production Support

Whether it was slicing reels, recapping events, or stitching together vintage TPB gold, our video team brought fresh energy to their visual storytelling.

Internal Process & Reporting Systems

We built a consistent system for the broader marketing team—complete with weekly insights, real-time updates, and collaborative planning sessions. Everyone knew what was going on, what was performing, and what we should try next.

Partnership Strategy & Public Relations Execution

We provided strategic support for brand collaborations (like their cannabis seed drop with Brothers Grimm), including campaign brainstorming, press release writing, media pitching, and influencer coordination.

All Hands on Deck at Events

Red carpet setup? Ticket scanning? Social content capturing? We did it all—no task was “beneath” us (except maybe being stuck in the greasy trailer next to Randy’s). At the Halifax premiere of Shoulders of Kitties, we worked alongside their production team and other agency partners to ensure every moment ran smooth as a fresh bottle of Liquormen’s.

Seamless Event Execution

From boots-on-the-ground support to online amplification, we played a major role in executing a flawless Halifax premiere that fans, press, and partners are still talking about.

It’s been an honour (and a helluva lot of fun) working with these Canadian icons. The Trailer Park Boys have built something truly special, and we’re proud of the role we’ve played in growing and supporting their next chapter. The Milberry team is all in—and we can’t wait to see what kind of trouble (er… marketing magic) we get into together next.
